UPDATE: After my 2nd call to the MR customer service desk, they finally contacted the event manager at the property where my meeting took place and she apparently had forgotten to post my stay (they have to do this manually for each meeting I guess). Anyways, she apologized and forwarded the e-mail confirming that the points were posted (and I checked marriott.com and voila, +10 nights!).
Just 8 more meetings until PLAT.. Ironically, will still be cheaper than to finish my PLAT challenge before Sept 30 (7 nights to go)
If you need that many meetings to get plat that means you almost never stay at Marriott. You should understand it's not like they roll out the red carpet for you when you are plat. It's really not that big of a deal. You get 500 points, free internet, crappy breakfast during the week and an occasional room upgrade. It's not worth it to spend extra money just to get the plat "status" for 5 or 10 stays a year. Really. Unless I am totally misunderstanding something I would you are literally throwing time and money away.
