Examples for fair pricing of PE

Just have read the interesting discussion about the reasonable or unreasonable pricing for Premium Economy.

Just would like to add the prices for a randomly chosen flight from FRA to HKG and back (Sep 12/19):

You find the following Economy prices:

Eco Special 913,45 Euro
Eco Core 948,45 Euro
Economy Standard: 1.208,45 Euro

Premium Economy Standard: 1.508,45 Euro
Premium Economy Flex: 1.808,45 Euro

So the price difference from Economy Standard 1.208,45 Euro to PE Standard is 1.508,45 for the round trip. This means exactly 150 Euro surcharge per segment for 11 h respectively 12 hours of a more relaxed experience with 2-4-2 instead of 3-4-3 seating.

A surcharge of nearly 25 % on this fare or maximum of 65 % compared with the cheapest available Eco special fare

I am convinced the surcharge is fairly priced, especially in view of the Business Class options starting at 3.448,-- Euro. They surrely will find a market for PE if they price it between 25% and 50 % surcharge. :-:

About 40 % of the PE seats seems to have been sold on this flight. A good number of reservations with the fact in view, that PE just starts on that route.
