20 mins before landing and i have ipad on flight mode, happily reading my novel in iBooks....
Then asked to turn it off, as is person nearby reading kindle. Yet I can pick up a 'normal' book or paper and read until I have to exit the plane!
Could the safety guidelines possibly be updated for the modern era or is there a rational reason for this?..... I'm guessing it's to prevent distraction but it does seem a bit OTT.
Is it an electronic device? if so , why wasn't it turned off when all electronic devices were required to be switched off? If it had been, then no one would have asked
Normal books are not electronic
