perhaps because you've already laid out the $$$$ for the MGC and if you use a CC the money laid out remains unused in the MGC and now you have to pay the CC and the MGC is restricted to usage only at Marriotts while one can use their CCs anywhere, but I'll let the OP chime in as to his/her reasons............
