I've been experiencing the same problem with attempting to complete two Avios bookings online with no luck -- keep getting an error once the credit card information has been submitted (tried different credit cards).
Ended up calling the BA Reservation line and an agent would book it waiving phone fee (upon kind request), but it took a good 25-30min for each reservation.
