Our only pre requisite is that it will need to be warm for mid April, but if you have other places you love, regardless of warmth, please add them too as we could use that for next time.

If you're looking for a truly "Southern" experience, I
highly recommend Charleston. Downtown hotels Charleston Place, Wentworth Mansion and Planters Inn are all excellent and for beaches Kiawah Island resort (~30-40 mins from downtown) is great. Fine dining and southern charm everywhere and weather is warm in April very reliably.
It's not "Miami-style" luxury, but a bit more unique and distinctly "Southern." People are all so genuinely friendly and welcoming compared to a place like MIA.
