Also, while the weather is still decent in September, you miss the big tourist crowds. That can be good and bad - easier to find accommodation last-minute, few to no crowds, but some places may be closed or operating on a reduced schedule.

Yes did a one week drive - ferry to the west and drove to the east. First full week in September after the long weekend.

PRO
  • Lower cost of accommodation.
  • Less crowded compared to Jul/Aug.

CON:
  • Less choice of accommodation due to summer help back in school. One place had absolutely beautiful ocean view cottages almost on the rockcliff but those were closed after Sept long weekend. We ended up staying one night only in the main lodge.
  • Non-summer schedule of tourist attraction and dining.
