I have an inbound flight from DPS at 1530 and need to connect to a flight to KKC at 1830. Looks like I should overnight in Bangkok. As its the first day of Songkran I suspect all the domestic flights will be full - so if I miss a reservation I would have, as the Thai people say, "a big problem".
Google maps indicates a drivetime of 45 mins between the airports. Of course I need to allow time to clear immigration at DMK - and this is Thailand.
Are you flying to Khon Kaen (KKC)? I thought that only TG flew there? And, as far as I know, TG is not moving any flights, even domestic ones, to DMK.
You would clear Immigration at BKK.
If you did have to go to DMK, then a taxi on Saturday, 13 April would be quite speedy assuming you can get a taxi. A lot of taxi drivers leave town for the holiday, even taking their taxis with them.
FWIW, there is a 555 minivan departing from level 1/door #10 outside the Magic Point Food Court/minimart which goes to DMK, so no need to go to the Transportation Center. There is a desk setup with signage.
Oops. I only read your second post, and assumed you were arriving from DPS on TG. Sorry, I just read the OP and see you are arriving at DMK, then going to BKK. It may be too early to know if this will be doable given that you will be dealing with a new Immigration set-up, and a potential dearth of taxis at DMK. I guess if I could pre-arrange/confirm dedicated transportation I might try the connection. Again, apologies for not reading all the posts.
