The last figures I saw showed that VS made a proft of ~£60m on a turnover of over £ 2bn so less than a 3% margin.
And that could be easily wiped out by a volcano errupting in the wrong place or some bad weather somewhere that delays a few planes.
Sadly despite making a £18.5m profit the previous year VS made a loss of £80.2m last year which I suspect the new UC suites, clubhouses and other refits must have contributed to. On the plus side they have said that they aren't expecting to get rid of any staff as a result of the cost saving plans.^ I just hope the customer experience isn't hit by it instead.
