It's quite a local hotel to me - it's reasonable, but nothing exceptional. Haven't stayed there for a long time, but did visit for a meeting a while back. Public areas are quite nice for a Holiday Inn, and it has a decent enough health club too. Can't comment on the rooms, as it must be 10-12 years ago since I booked one - hopefully had a refurb since then! :-)
Enjoy your stay - Maidstone and Sevenoaks both have a good selection of restaurants. Maidstone more selection, but less nice than Sevenoaks, which is a much smaller place with more of a "village" feel about it.
