But if that was the case, what would stop everyone from buying the cheap Z fare, then calling to change to a direct flight that is twice as much even in Z fare?
Example....
I REALLY want to fly the 8am YYZ-LHR however Z fare is $2000.
There is a 10pm YYZ-LHR Z fare for $1000.00.
Let's just book the 10pm, pay the $1000.00 then call and switch my flight to the 8am and BOOM, save $1000.00.
I think that's the reason why they make you pay fare difference.
