Surcharges imposed when booking on AA?

I'm trying to figure this one out here. I knew BA imposed charges on their own metal but not AA. I specifically chose an AA flight over the pond to London hoping that I wouldn't be robbed. Am I going crazy? But I also discovered something new...Maybe the Arabs own London now? I mean they are the ones driving their fancy cars all around. Also who charges a bull sh!t "Animal Plant Health User Fee" US carriers don't even charge that on award tickets...
