1. It has only been 18 months since the merger, it is not a long time to allign everything together. Even Delta who merged in 2007 still is integrating things together, such as the NWA 747 have a different and inferior product (apparently never been on that particular subfleet).
I think the term merger is very misleading.
While they may be trying to make back office functions more efficient and share resources, there is not a merger between BA and Iberia from a product perspective. They are simply part of IAG. So the 'product' will most likely continue to be quite different going forward.
It's a bit like Hilton Worldwide having a variety of brands and products - you don't expect to have the same experience in a Conrad compared to a Hampton Inn.
