at least I thought so

International Airlines Group (ICAG.L) (ICAG.MC) is to buy up to 16 A330 long-range aircraft from European planemaker Airbus (EAD.PA) to replace Iberia's long-haul fleet.

Spanish airline Iberia, which recently merged with British Airways to create IAG, said on Monday it will buy eight A330s and take out options for another eight twin-engine planes.

The deal for the new aircraft, to be delivered from autumn 2012 to spring 2014, will give IAG more flexibility when deciding the size of Iberia's long-haul fleet and future capacity, it said.

In a separate statement, Airbus said the airline had signed a provisional agreement for eight planes with options for another eight.
