The concept of a successful company sharing that success with its staff being lavish is laughable. Indeed the opposite should be the the joke. Oh wait.. it is.
Anyway, about to board my ATH- FRA flight to connect to New York in Business.
I will get there perfectly capable of having my dinner meetings.
Nobody has suggested walking. Let's try to keep the debate reasonable.
My employer also allows J on flights over 2000 miles. Every company will have a policy it deems to be appropriate. There is no "right" or "wrong" policy.
My (and a few other posters') view is simply that it's a stretch to describe a corporate travel policy as "unethical" just because it's not designed to help employees attain a high FF status.
