The last time I was at SJU last October (flying a 757, but at least it was a 75L), there were only a handful of AA gates in operation, with a few more Eagle (Executive) gates. The rest of the AA terminal was like a ghost town....dusty floors, abandoned carts, shuttered shops, etc. Very sad indeed. I remember that it was AA's overseas gateway to many of the second-tier/smaller Caribbean destinations.
Frankly, I'm shocked that the daily mainline CCS turn still exists.
Actually one of the turns is now a 738 (although that could be seasonal.) The last few times I've flown its been an Eisenhower 757. Also, IIRC DL now serves a meal in Y (albeit its more like a snack) now on that route.
