Why Status miles on Zip but not Tango?

I have noticed that one can earn status miles on ZIP, but not Tango. Does this make any sense? It certainly does not to me. Both are discount airlines, which are often replacing existing AC routes. ZIP is taking over many AC routes in the west, and with low load factors to date. If AC wants loyalty, status miles should be offered on all Tango flights, otherwise why bother for those that are SE or even SuperPrestige (TM pending)???
