The truth is, employers pay for you to travel to do business, not so you can earn miles. The company is out to make money, not get their employees status. I'd never expect my company to pay hundreds of dollars extra just to satisfy my need for miles/upgrades. Why not try another carrier or offer to pay the difference for a T+/L fare?
