I have been researching this program as a new addition to my miles portfolio. I signed up for both IB and BA today so in November they will be ready for transfers. My plan is to book one-way AA award LAX-OGG for 12,500 Avios each. Then next year, I will be needing MAD-TFN and I was noticing the BA site quoted $23ish in taxes and the IB site quoted around 25 Euros for taxes. Is this a common thing, it's cheaper to use BA Avios for flights on IB?

My source of Avios will be E-Rewards for Iberia, UR for BA and hopefully a BA Visa in Oct after I let my Chase cards cool down a bit. It also seems that there are different earnings for hotels such as the Accor group?
