I would actually prefer Tower Bridge if staying with family. It's a short walk to the Tube and as stifle mentioned easy access with lifts ( none at Paddington Tube IIRC). Great location as very near the river, and fresh air, some great casual eating spots and the must visit Borough Market a true foodies delight.
The streets are busy but I easily managed a 4 wheeled suitcase so think a stroller would be fine.
Diamonds get breakfast in the restaurant typical Hilton buffet and filled me up until evening.
