Just pointing out the fact that both IST and LHR is outside Schengen area. If the traveller needs visa, the Schengen visa must be a multiple entry visa. It should not pose any extra difficulty getting a multiple entry, but the benefit of Schengen area (no border controls between member states) is lost a bit this way.
