Flight on hold, need to change the return leg what will AA do price wise?

So I have a SA trip on hold.

SFO-DFW-GRU-MIA-JFK-SFO.

I need to take a later flight out of GRU, and looking at the price now, the outbound legs have increased by $700 in the one day the hold has been on the itin.

The later GRU flight is on V whereas the earlier one was S, and would be GRU-MIA-SFO missing the JFK leg. (was trying to add a miles into the equation)

Once booked, and I phone AA asking them to change to the later flight, will they reprice the whole itin or just the return leg?

Regards BM
