Saving Avios by flying s/h in Eco
Dear all,

first of all: I am sure this has been covered before, but I tried the search and did not find a thread.

So here's my question: can I call to make an award booking and ask for the s/h to/from LHR to be booked into ET to save Avios? With the new segment based mileage I find it a waste to spend 18000 miles for a CE return, given it is only a 70-minute-flight.

Will I have to pay the offline surcharge if doing this?
