Bumping this thread instead of opening a new one......

I had booked tickets for a group of 4 of us back in March. Now, 2 months before our trip, one of the girls has backed out. I have another friend who would be interested in possibly going now, but I'm not sure how to go about it. She wanted to be able to use the extra ticket that is not going to be utilized, but I told her I didn't think was possible, since it was a non-refundable ticket. I thought perhaps I could cancel the ticket, minus the change fee, and just rebook her using the credit from the canceled ticket. I know there would be a difference in price, since the tickets have really jumped since we booked.

But is that even possible? I booked all four tickets myself, but I was under the impression that the credit would actually be only usable by the person who's name it was under. So I wouldn't be able to use it myself, even to rebook for someone else, even though I paid for all four. I received all the Elevate points for the purchase, but I still am unsure.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
