Lh712 fra-icn

Boarding as the last passenger reminded me of a situation in March 2012 when I missed an ORD-LHR flight on UA connecting to BD in LHR for MAN, and had to end up being rerouted through BRU and connecting to SN. In March, it was one heck of a run to get through TSA and then to Concourse C, where I was the last passenger to get onto the plane (and the helpful gate agent manning the flight to BRU asked, as I ran there, "Are you the passenger who was supposed to go to LHR"?) Brilliant. But this time, I'm flying in F, and it's a Porsche bringing me to the plane, where I'm the last guy on board again. Interesting. Unfortunately, I go through Door 2L instead of 1L and wade through business class, where I am pretty sure some people would be thinking "what is this riff-raff doing here in business class?"

But well. I get settled into Seat 2K as the only passenger in F. How lucky can I get? My very first (well, technically, second if you count LH437) time flying F and I get to fly solo! ^

LH712 departs slightly behind schedule at 1830 and is due into ICN at 1158 the next morning. Again, Laurent Perrier and nuts are offered prior to takeoff, and off we go.

Ooh, the lavatories in F on the LH A340-600 have windows!

A dinner menu is handed out, which slowly unfolds into LH food pornography, Round 2.

Some fishy amuse bouche, pretty good.

Aha! The butter with the "First Class" imprint!

Caviar.

3 great appetisers again.

A chilled gazpacho.

I realised one thing: I don't really like gazpachos because they are served cold. It's just a personal preference. Tastes ok, but eeks, cold! I guess my tastebuds are too used to Southeast Asian soups that are always served hot.

I go for the kimchi bokum as the main course. Korean stuff. By that time, however, my tummy is still pretty full from LH437 and the First Class Terminal...

At this point I do feel kind of sleepy, it must be the lack of sleep on LH437. I fight to stay awake by watching Dr Seuss' Lorax.

Lastly, 2 more desserts (heck, I've still got to try everything!)

After all that stuff, it is time to go to bed... I doze off for a good 4h, not bad, and wake up somewhere over the Eastern part of Russia...
