I do it, mostly to get between LHR and LGW to get to/from some warm-weather destinations on AA/BA itineraries.

Enough people must do it that there are tickets advertised and sold for dedicated buses for direct traffic between LGW and LHR. And at this time of the year those buses are often so full of persons with considerable luggage that some persons are even unable to get on the first bus they attempt to board for such service.
