Vladivostok Air Mileage Credit?
Not sure whether this should be under the Asian or European category, because when you're in Siberia, it's debatable...
I recently flew a couple flights from KJA (Krasnoyarsk) to KHV (Khabarovsk) to NRT (Tokyo), and when I bought them they were advertised as Aeroflot, but they turned out to be operated by Vladivostok Air. I try to fly SkyTeam carriers as much as I can, because Delta Skymiles is my main frequent flyer program. Unfortunately, Delta would not award me miles for this flight because it wasn't a true Aeroflot flight.
It seems that, because of the code share flight, I can get Aeroflot Bonus miles from these flights, but I don't want to join the Aeroflot Bonus program just for these, and the 20,000 other miles I've flown on Aeroflot in the past year have all gone to my Delta account. Is there another mileage program in OneWorld or Star Alliance that I could get mileage credit from? Vladivostok sometimes does code shares with United, but does that mean I could get United miles for this flight (I have United and American for my main miles accounts in the other alliances)?
Any advice on possibilities?
