The card was opened on 3/19 and I had over $2700 in spend posted by 6/12. 90 days after 3/19 is 6/17, so it was a close call. But I made the spend, and I made the deadline. Two different BofA reps say "we don't know anything about miles". I'm sure they don't, but BofA certainly tells Virgin when people reach the threshold. Very frustrating.
Just to make sure, "opened" means the date approved on, not the date you activated right? I'm not sure about BoA, but I'm pretty sure Citi and Chase start counting from your approval date.
