Obviously not the case in the OP's situation. Wondering if he'll come back to tell us what he did or what the hotel did, or if the people were gone in the morning & weren't there the next night, or heck for all he knows weren't there the remainder of the night, if they were waiting for a cab. As others have mentioned, some info missing - including the name of the property.
