I've stayed in many Hilton properties in US like Waldorf Towers in NYC, The Beverly Hilton and Conrad Miami, but unfortunately had problems everytime with a quality of the product. Also had many other experiences with Hilton chain in US. Mainly in Chicago, Florida and California. The best value for money was about 50-60 usd rate for suite (upgrade) at Hilton Palm Springs
If someone I know like Hilton Chain hotels in Europe or Asia, I always suggest to stay in Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton's in US. Just to avoid the huge disappointment.
If you are used to staying at 4 Seasons or RC's then comparing to Hiltons it's more like driving a BMW or Jag then complaing about your Taurus rental car. In my mind 2 different levels and prices of properties.
The NY Hilton used to be a Hilton flagship property in the 70's. Current issues there start with the ownership group and work there way down. If the owners don't support the GM or if the GM is incompetent then what you get today is the result.
