Concorde had her certificate of airworthiness withdrawn in 2003.
...and we still have WWII aircraft flying..... the withdrawal of the CoA was ultimately political.... the irony is that to operate as a commercial passenger carrying aircraft it needs all of the rubbish that Airbus "took away", but to operate as a display aircraft it needs far less.

Another irony is the whole world has had 7 years to prepare for this, and it didn't take 7 years to i) build a Concorde ii) refit post 2000 several Concordes iii) raise the small but not insignificant amount to make it a possibility for other similar causes.
