I haven't developed a record of choosing poorly, more corporate and availability issues.
I give people and businesses a second chance, however this trip IS their second chance....
Hilton is a global hotel chain, and aside from local cultural and cuisine specialities contributing to an enhanced breakfast, the Hilton NY certainly has a poor offering for its top tier guests.
Children should never be allowed into a lounge en masse when there are 5 kids per 2 adults...... and 10 kids per 4 adults as I saw yesterday morning.
The executive lounge is for business people and should be a relatively peaceful and unchaotic experience. Here at the Hilton NY, this is neither, and should really be classed as a "bring the whole family even though status normally applies to one individual and someone sharing his/her room, we've decided to sell out Executive rooms to families and let the whole lot in" Lounge.
It wouldn't be so bad if the problems were fixed, since the majority of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
It is interesting that an HHonors rep has followed this thread and pm'ed me, since FT is about enhancing the experience of the community and avoiding bad experiences, so I wonder what will be the outcome of that.....
I certainly appreciate all of the positive comments pointing me to reviews and previous threads and I am not so naive as to have blindly made a reservation without looking around.....
