Price differential is largely due to exclusivity and lower production numbers. it is also due to a slightly more elaborate interior outfit of the suitcases.

That again explains why a suitcase of the same size and material can be heavier than its more simply outfitted alu (color) version.

Dents can be removed by Rimowa easily (or by yourself). Scratches not so much. Personally, I don't even bother with a plastic cover. I think the beaten up look is part of the Rimowa appeal. But if some people see them rather as bijoux, more power to them.
