I disagree with that point. I think the benefit is to meet with colleagues who may be on different flights, but are still flying BA.
I knew I was skirting close when I wasn't staying in the lounge (though I had intended to, but the security lines through flight connections were slow - stopping people at the escalators), but I really felt for her with a DEL - LHR - 6 Hour Layover - LHR - SAN, all in economy.
