You're right i wanted to say JL7016 NRT-LAX. I then need to take another flight to go to San Diego.

To answer your question, 2 reasons:
-timing (arrival time in San Diego plus longer connection time in LAX)
-price

I never took an AA flight before. Would you advise against it ?
