No, I didn't mean to imply that. Being charged for something is only something they might use as evidence in a case against us, but it isn't pressure to fly unsafe airplanes. No amount of threats of a delay charge is going to make any of us fly an airplane that we don't think is as safe as it could be.

Let me further clarify that: There are opponents out there, which we are competing against, but they are the other airlines, not the employees, passengers, etc.

Especially in any contract negotiations, they tend to spend a lot of energy pitting one work group against another rather than trying to get everyone pulling on the same end of the rope. Divide and conquer is right out of the Negotiations 101 Playbook.

A few of us have said this before but it bears repeating: The employees of UCH could be out in front and all alone as the go-to airline if we had a leadership team that actually sought that as a goal. If they'd do that, then their primary goal of maximizing shareholder value would naturally fall into place.
