A few comments from my recent stay...

I had to burn a few nights to complete my Plat challenge. Chose to spend two nights at this property to take a weekend trip to Santa Barbara area. The previous reviews are correct. This property is tired, overpriced, and NOT a resort.

The $10 parking fee is a joke. The "secured" parking lot is a lot behind the hotel with a parking gate. The gate is not controlled by a room card or anything. You just drive up to the gate, and the arm opens automatically. The woman at check in told me they "aren't quite up to speed" so the gate is not controlled by room card access yet.

Also of note is the fact that this property gives you 1/2 of the bonus points you would expect. For example, the Gold amenity at this property is only 125 (as opposed to the usual 250). The Green choice points are only 250 (as opposed to 500). Thinking this was a mistake, I did an online chat with SPG. They called the hotel and confirmed that this property only awards half the points. Lame.

If you must stay at this property, and need a quiet room, ask for room 101. We stayed there. It's a trek from the lobby, but it's the last room on the row (which means only one neighbor), and it does not have a room above it. Despite the above criticisms, I was surprised to see the hotel was very busy.
