Just for those of us not based in HKG, we haven't had a typhoon this bad for 13 years. The signal 8 and higher warnings (essentially most employees go home and HK grinds to a halt) have been up for 15 hours and will last for another hour more. Yea, last night it was some of the scariest howling winds and rain I've ever experienced, I thought for sure the windows in my apartment would all blow out (which it happened at a number of places in town, actually) and suck me out with the pressure. It sounded so loud as if Godzilla was outside my window. It was so loud it drowned out my wife's snoring. Now,
that's loud.
