I will buy a J class ticket but may use an upgrade to travel F, if this class is available.

I note that I have to stop somewhere (either Narita or Seoul?) whether I use LAX or SFO as my destination. If LAX I will just book an internal flight to SFO.
Your options are limited. TG doesn't fly to SFO, and there are only four services per week to LAX - Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. Technically there are BKK departures on the other three days, but there's a very long layover in ICN which means you pick up the next day's flight to LAX. For example, if you departed BKK on Monday (evening), you would end up on the same ICN/LAX plane as those who departed BKK on Tuesday (morning).

The other bad news for you is that TG operates 772s and 773s on this route and they're two class - no First!

Could be worth considering UA or, if you don't mind a bit extra time in the air, zip down to SIN and pick up the SIN/LAX non-stop.

Happy travels.
