Since Emirates changed the way you earn airmiles, i have travelled with Qatar and Eithad airline's, not has good as emirates, but cheaper and i still get from A to B for my travels.

Emirates Plan to reduce the number of Gold card holders will be paying the benefits now, but how many customers have they lost by doing so.

Sadly, the number of Golds won't have decreased at all, but probably gone the other way, given the amount of new Skywards members the program attracts daily.

You are right, the Flex/Saver fare change would have arrested the rate of growth, but only to a point.

I've heard a lot of good things about both Etihad and Qatar especially their J and F cabins. Both J cabins are supposed to be miles ahead of EK. I'm going to give Etihad a try shortly as they just provided me a status match...
