Finally, is there any quick/elegant way to attach such an attaché to the handle of a roller?
Thanks for helping me out on my first post.

Good for you.
Be advised that after quite a bit of suggestions over the last year (Yes !), Rimowa does in fact now offer a polycarbonate loptop case (with Rillen, or the grooves ) for a 15 inch laptop. This is being introduced through Porsche Rimowa, and I am looking forward to seeing one in person on 29.07.2012. That item is already for sale here in Europe through Porsche, black gloss, with the Porsche crest. 300 Euro.
That makes better sense to me than the leather case with Rillen.
There are in fact ways to couple an LH Slim Rimowa attache to a Rimowa Topas, Salsa, or Salsa Ultra, but they work with some reservation. I have used an older Topas velcro and plastic clip strap that Rimowa previously included with that case, which worked for a number of years. When the Rimowa Notebook case came along, I left the alu attache behind in the car when travelling.
The velcro looks twisted, and the sides of the alu attache stick out a bit too. Not quite as elegant as one might think. And given the investment cost, I would not clip an attache containing a laptop, IPAD, or tablet onto the luggage clip found on certain Rimowa cases. Just too much risk if getting hit by something, rather than stolen.
I considered adding a strap on the back of my alu attached to slide over the carry-on handle, but that means drilling and screwing two machine screws into one side of the attache. In our rainy wet winters, that might not be very good for important papers, or electronics inside, without a gasketed machine screw.
So right now my tablet or laptop is inside the carry-on itself, or inside the notebook s case on the top of the carry-on. I find it easy to pull the tablet out, or put it away.
Brainstorming further, there was a LH Rimowa case ( for kids I think) not too long ago that had a semi-clear panel designed into it so one could add photos or printed pictures to face the outside. I believe that LH even offered some travel prints for children along that line.
I often thought that a traveller could perhaps slide a thin tablet (IPAD, ASUS, or perhaps the new Google pad) inside, facing out, and work on it that way, perhaps with very little modification. Use while waiting for a flight, enroute somewhere, or for the bus or taxi.
Perhaps as tablet devices are getting smaller and thinner with OLED, we could cut things down to a small, thin panel of Gorilla glass, with BT sound, WIFI and touch sensors. Just then slide it into a clear panel in your luggage, purse, or attache. A "smart" bit of luggage, perhaps.
Before you laugh too hard, there is already a working set off " smart " contact lenses in Palo Alto, that function and show promise.
