as long as it doesn't exceed the MPM via atlantic for EWR-BKK (which it shouldn't) then it should be okay, but you will be paying the points for a US-Africa award which is a bit higher than us-asia (150 vs 125 for business).

You do run into issues with south africa and asia and MPM
