Correct. Marriott cards only earn 1 points per dollar at RC; it is the RC cards at RC properties that earn the 5 points/dollar. Conversely, RC cards only earn 1 point per dollar at Marriott family hotels whereas the Marriott cards earn the 5 point multiplier.
You will still earn 10 points/dollar at RC properties if you choose MR points, but no additional points -- other than one point/dollar -- charged on any Marriott Visa.
