United doesn't run their desk in Montreal, it is contracted out to Swissport (I was told). They pretty much said if you want to leave today, go to the Air Canada desk and we will have a voucher waiting for you over there.

I did not want to get stuck overnight in Montreal so I took the flight to the wrong airport, not the end of the world, just wondering if it was common practice to waive the $75 fee since they delivered me to the wrong airport.

I have submitted a request to United and will let you know how it goes.
