I may be wrong... But, I think I remember seeing something similar being asked some time ago... And, the resounding opinion being that it would not be possible.

I think there is something to do with the two itineraries being paid for by different means... i.e. one cash and one Avios etc...

May be wrong, but I think that is the case.
