Thankfully she recovered after 3-4 days.
Well first I just wanted to tell them she would not show up, to avoid any confusion. Secondly I wanted to document that I notified them before the flight, since at the time I was thinking that taxes for the flight might be refunded. (and that's usually not possible with a noshow)
By the way, I forgot to mention in the summary above: Online checkin. I had booked though KLM.com, with az flight numbers. Online checkin through KLM.com did not work, nor Alitalia.com, nor flyairone.com. After inquiring @ the KLM Facebook people they gave me the AP pnr...which allowed me to login at flyairone.com...but they wanted an additional fee to select seats (within the 24h window). So OLCI is a pain to get the pnr, and, requires an additional fee.
