Few things to check

1) Don't have your email pushed to you, instead have it pull every 15+ minutes. That makes a huge difference on your battery.

2) Check your brightness settings. If you are using your phone mostly indoors, which most people I suspect are - change the setting for brightness from Automatic to low. I find the Lumia 900 has plenty of light on the low setting.

3) I don't know if this is true, but I've heard people say that using Wi Fi uses less battery than cellular data. Try using Wi Fi as much as you can, as it will help keep data usage down as well.
