Oliver;
I understand your comment, and I don't wish to disagree, but this is not Rimowa, the LH Worldshop, nor a Rimowa store. The Rimowa store and the LH Worldshop did in fact quote current prices for the Rimowa luggage the FT member was interested in buying.
The message posted was in fact from the Airliner Crew Service Center being discussed.The FT member was looking at the Airliner store as a 3rd option.This was also a return customer to that store, by the way.
To clarify so there is no mistake on which store we are talking about, this is the entire message, sans name & store logo:
" Hello ---------,
Our Store is only for Airline Staff. So we request a valid Airline ID before we give out any information. Also returning Customers have to authorize again.
Please send us a scan of your Airline ID and we can give out price information. Both items are on stock.
Yours Airliner Crew Service Center "

FRA is a long distance for some to fly with limited transit time, and try a purchase luggage, discounted or not. It would be nice to be able to do business with the Airliner Crew Service Store, but officially without current airline employee or functionary identification, that is not possible.
So it would be most disappointing to fly that very long way thinking one could officially purchase items only to discover that was not allowed by store policy. Especially if one were jet-lagged with false-hopes of an easy, quick purchase. Officially at least, or without the assistance of an Interliner with current valid ID to make the purchase for you, that is not an option.
