Yes, that is the points posting from my MR Visa card for this month. And I actually know why... I'm just not sure what to do, if anything.

The story:

I was using a gift card to pay for a 1-night stay at the CY YUL (a very nice property, BTW). While very nice, the FDCs were unfamiliar with the procedure. They did finally figure it out, but somehow in the operation credited the full amount on my card to my bill (which was approx. $5 more than the bill total). In order to correct this, he re-credited the difference - but somehow, credited it to my MR Visa, and not the GC. I only realized this when I went to use the gift card again, and was told the amount was at zero. Fine, no problem, it's no-harm-no-fowl, right??

Well, then, since it's a credit to my account, the system posted -16 points. Yes, they removed 16 points from my MR account. Now, theoretically, I regained those points when I had to put $5 more of a Marriott stay on my Visa, but the question remains - should they remove points from your account every time Marriott credits your CC? Should I contact Visa, Marriott, the CY?? Has this happened to anyone else?
