Right. I remember reading that a couple places as well, but it slipped my mind. Guess the gold now, upgrade to platinum for MQM in Jan. plan is out.

I think I understood that part; I was simply wondering if there was some kind of cap for gold spending to not hurt my chances of getting the 10K MQM bonus at 25K spend on the platinum card. I think I read that for people who had the gold card for a year and were thinking about upgrading. But for me, that is irrelevant since I wouldn't have the full year before a fee increase.


EDIT: Just thought of another idea. What do you all think about getting a Business Gold delta amex now, using it for the benefits and sign on bonus for a few months, and then getting a personal platinum in Dec. or Jan. to get status faster and canceling the gold card before the annual fee kicks in.
